Your candle- did you know?
Understand the performance of your candle:
Wax Blends
-
For candles, currently I am using two types of wax blends; coconut-soy and coconut- apricot. We're conscious about our ingredients and BOTH blends are clean burning candles free of toxins, parabens and phthalates. They are also cruelty free. If you'd like to know which blend is used in a specific candle it is noted in the description. If for some reason that is left off and you are curious- please contact us; we're happy to help! All wax tart melts are made from coconut wax and are also free from toxins, parabens and phthalates.
Appearance
-
Coconut, soy and apricot waxes all have characteristics of their own. I find that keeping our candles clean is more important than any imperfections you may find. For example, you may notice wet spots in our coconut- apricot candles or frosting and rough tops after first burn in our coconut- soy candles.. This is no way affects the performance of the candle, it's just a characteristic of the wax itself.
Candle Burn Memory & Wick Care
-
Allow the wax to burn fully so that it creates a full "melt pool" on the first burn is essential to the performance of your candle. This is especially true for our coconut-soy candles as soy wax has "wax memory"and if you do not allow the wax to have a full melt pool on the first burn you will create a tunneling affect in your candle.
-
What is a full melt pool? It's when the melted wax reaches all sides of the container.
-
Always make sure to trim your wick to about .25" before each burn. Make sure to cut off any "mushrooming" left from the previous burn BUT BE SURE not to over trim your wick as you may have difficulties re-lighting your candle.
-
If you find that the flame is weak, the wick has been cut too short and just (safely) pour out some of the melted wax and you'll have your candle performing like new again!
Wax Melt Care
-
Place 1-2 wax tart melts in the dish of an electric warmer. Never overfill your tray with wax.
-
Ensure your burner is on a flat, even surface and away from children, pets and flammable materials.
-
When using wax melts, do not add water to your burner tray.
-
You may add another wax melt when wax has reached 1/2" in the wax dish or discontinue use.
-
Once you are ready to discontinue use, allow wax to naturally cool. Once wax is solid again remove the dish and freeze it for 24hrs so you can safely pop out the wax and discard. Now you are ready to store, or start again!
-
Do not allow to burn dry.
-
Do not leave your wax melt burner unattended.
